Mental Health Week
Mental Health Week was all about creating awareness surrounding mental health for both school students and the wider community. Its central idea was a week full of activities and events held at Chancellor State College to encourage and develop understanding surrounding various mental health issues that teenagers can experience. We invited quite a few organisations and groups to come and be a part of the week, with organisations such as Headspace, the North Coast Indigenous Health and the Local Youth Group contributing and helping outline both mental health issues and where you can get help to the students. As well as this we had bands such as What About Tonight and the Local Youth Band accompany activities run by the Sporting Program and student volunteers to create a week that was both informative and fun. With the inception of Mental Health week, we employ a new tradition for our school to incorporate after the current body of year twelves has left.
